紫薯山药糕 Chinese Macaroon

曾经人们有很多耐心的年代,会用手工慢慢的,细细的做很多东西。而今,高科技越来越多,生活步伐越来越快,可人们的耐心越来越少。纯手工的东西也在慢慢消失。做糕点,是个磨耐心的事儿。
慢慢地做一碟糕,泡一杯热茶,可以让心静下来。
西点的马卡龙颜色诱人,然而中式糕点用最简单健康的食材做出的紫薯山药糕并不比马卡龙的颜值逊色。

材料非常简单只需要:

紫薯 一块

山药 一块

蜂蜜

桂花 一小撮

也可用糖桂花代替

街头飘香的红枣糕 Red Jujube Cake

Red Jujube is a popular healthy food in China, especially most women love it. I can not remember clearly when it began to have the aroma of Jujube cake on the street. It seems like all of a sudden there appeared Jujube Cake stores all over cities in China. When I studied at Beijing Language and Culture University, there was a famous Jujube Cake store at the Wu Dao Kou universe center. At night time, sometimes I hang out with friends at our universe center. The aroma of the Jujube Cake fill the air of the whole Wu Dao Kou area. However, I never had the patience to buy because the line up there was so long all the time.

Now I never have the chance to buy since I am not in Beijing, not in China any more. I miss the aroma so much. I think maybe what I miss is the time I spend at Beijing Language and Culture University and the memories I had around Wu Dao Kou area. So vivid! Well, we can not turn the clock back.But what I can do is experimenting copy the aroma, ,maybe even add some creation in it. That is how the recipe below was born.

  • Dry red jujube-150g
  • water
  • 3 eggs
  • pastry flour ( for those of you gluten free, can use rice flour instead) -300g
  • unsalted butter- 150g or half cup
  • brown sugar-100g
  • baking soda-1&1/2 teaspoon
  • salt- a hint
  • earl grey- 1 tea bag

具体从什么时候开始记不太清了,似乎忽然间全国很多城市都出现了一种叫枣糕的街头小吃。那条街上有枣糕王的铺子,那香气能把几条街以外的人引来。我在北语上学的时候,夜晚常常和同学出来逛五道口。那时的五道口就有一家枣糕王,很远就能闻到枣糕的香味。然而说实话,我却从来没有耐心去买,因为几时去几时都排着长长的队。现在想买也买不到了,隔着个太平洋,况且,听说那家关门了,搬到了另外一个地方。

我想我可能不单单是想念那个香气吧,更想念的是那段在北语,在五道口的时光,脑海中仍然存着一幕幕鲜活的图像。北语的梧桐大道,五道口灯红酒绿的夜晚,图书馆陈旧纸张的气味,宿舍外面小超市的早点,咖啡厅的手抓饼,还有永远排长队的枣糕王。

可是时光不可倒转,可以做的就是复制那种香气。最近爱上伯爵红茶的味道,想着融合红糖、伯爵红茶和红枣一起,一定会更加香甜。正所谓中西合璧了吧。

  • 红枣150g
  • 水(没过红枣)
  • 鸡蛋3只
  • 低筋面粉(也可用米粉代替)300g
  • 无盐黄油150g
  • 红糖100g
  • 小苏打 1又 1/2茶匙
  • 盐 一小撮
  • 伯爵红茶包 1包
